Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run collision left a young woman critically injured in Scotch Common near to Pitshanger Lane.
At about 5pm on 17 September 2025, officers and paramedics were called to Scotch Common following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
Police say enquiries suggest the motorcycle had been travelling down the middle of the carriageway before striking the woman, who is in her 20s. She was taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
The rider did not stop and is believed to have initially driven away before circling back towards the scene, then heading off along Pitshanger Lane.
In an appeal for information, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan police said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage. Even the smallest detail could help us trace the motorcyclist involved.”
Detectives are urging anyone with information to contact police on 101 or online, quoting CAD4909/17SEP.
