Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses on the second anniversary of a fatal collision in Southall that claimed the life of a 46-year-old man.
Jaroslaw Jadwidzic died after being struck by a van that had been hit by a black Mercedes on Uxbridge Road, near the junction with Greenford Road, at about 5.50am on 15 October 2023. The Mercedes is believed to have overtaken a bus before colliding with the stationary van close to the Iron Bridge bus stop, where Mr Jadwidzic had been working.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died nine days later, on 24 October 2023. The driver and a passenger from the Mercedes — both thought to be men — fled the scene before police arrived.
Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said they are still trying to trace witnesses who may have been on the bus or at the stop that morning.
Detective Sergeant Nush Puvitharan, said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of Jaroslaw who are still waiting for answers. Even the smallest bit of information could make a difference in this investigation.”
Mr Jadwidzic’s wife, Mariola, said the death had left a lasting void in her life. “I lost one of the most important people to me. What I feel every day is indescribable. I want justice for what happened and for those responsible to admit to what they have done.”
A man believed to have been in the car was arrested near the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving but was later released without further action. Two other men were subsequently arrested and remain under investigation.
Police have asked anyone with information to call 101, quoting CAD 1496/15OCT2023, or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
