One man has died and another has been arrested following a broad daylight stabbing in East Acton.
Metropolitan Police were called to reports of an altercation on Erconwald Street, at around 1.10pm on Saturday (5 April 2025) afternoon. Officers arrived within minutes and found two men with stab wounds.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, one of the men was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was rushed to hospital, where he remains under medical supervision. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
At this stage, police have not released the age or identity of the victim, or the man arrested.
A cordon remains in place as detectives continue their investigation into the fatal incident, which has left the local community in shock.
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “We await an update on the condition of the man in hospital. Enquiries are ongoing and Erconwald Street remains closed while officers carry out investigative work.”
Officers are now appealing for witnesses. A spokesperson said: “Anybody who witnessed the incident – or who has potentially relevant information – should contact the police on 101, quoting reference 3435/05APR”.
