The Metropolitan Police says it is making progress in tackling drug activity, anti-social behaviour and crime in parts of Acton, three months after launching Operation Broad Oak in June 2026, with five arrests, 14 drug-related stop-and-searches and 10 further Community Protection Warnings and Notices recorded during July and August.
The operation was launched following concerns raised by residents and is targeting problems around The Mount, Woodlands Park, Heathfield Gardens and St Mary’s Churchyard. Police said the area recorded the highest number of anti-social behaviour reports in Ealing over the past year.
Of the five people arrested during July and August, two were arrested for drug possession and one for possession of a weapon. Two others were either wanted by the courts or had been recalled to prison.
Police also said 15 offences have been prepared over alleged breaches of Community Protection Notices and are progressing through the judicial system.
The figures relate only to the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team, with additional work carried out by response officers and specialist police units not included.
Posting on Met Engage, Acting Ward Sergeant George Zealey, of the Metropolitan Police’s North Acton team, said: “We are still in the early stages, and there remains a significant amount of work ahead.”
Police said reports of anti-social behaviour across Acton fell from 85 in June to 74 in July. There were 27 reports in August up to Friday (22 August 2026).
Sergeant Zealey added: “Encouragingly, analysis of anti-social behaviour reports across Acton indicates a reduction in reported incidents over the last three months.”
He added: “Subject to ongoing results, we are hoping to move into the ‘Hold’ phase within the next few months, although this timeline remains flexible and dependent on operational outcomes.”
