A 20-year-old man from Acton has been jailed for 10 years for drug offences in Oxford and Slough following a hearing at Oxford Crown Court on 18 November 2024.
At the same court on 13 May 2024, Joseph Katende of Cotton Avenue in Acton, pleaded guilty to four counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs heroin and cocaine and one count each of: possession of cannabis, possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of ammunition without a firearms certificate.
The charges related to incidents from 21 July 2023 in Slough and 12 March 2024 in Oxford where Katende was found to be in possession of drugs.
When Katende was stopped by police officers in Oxford he was also found in possession of a firearm.
Katende was arrested by police on 12 March 2024 and charged with all offences the following day.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Chris Bennett, said: “We will never tolerate drug dealing in our communities, which often harm the most vulnerable people. We will continue to proactively target and prosecute offenders, like Katende, and we will be visible and covert in our efforts to disrupt and pursue offenders who are involved in the supply of drugs.”
