20-year-old man arrested over fatal Southall stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man in Southall last week (10 June 2026).

Police said a 20-year-old man was arrested in the Southall area on Tuesday (16 June 2026) on suspicion of murdering Gurbhej Singh. He remains in custody.

Officers were called to North Road, near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane, at 12.41am on 10 June 2026 following reports of a stabbing.

Emergency services found two men injured at the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr Singh died from a stab wound. A second man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said: “Officers have carried out extensive enquiries since Gurbhej’s death last week, which have led us to arrest a suspect on suspicion of his murder.

“I am aware of the concern that this tragic incident will have caused locally and I would like to thank the community for their patience while we have carried out our enquiries at the scene.

“I also want to thank those who have provided CCTV and other information that has helped us piece together what happened on the night of Gurbhej’s death.

“My thoughts remain with Gurbhej’s family and loved ones.”

Seven men aged between their early 20s and late 30s were initially arrested on suspicion of murder. Police said six have since been released with no further action, while a seventh remains on police bail as enquiries continue.

Specialist officers continue to support Mr Singh’s family.
