A special Shabbat dinner was held at Ealing United Synagogue on Friday (3 July 2026) that brought together local politicians, residents and community leaders.
The evening gave guests the opportunity to experience a four-course traditional Jewish Shabbat meal prepared by Zelda Vogel and hear from the synagogue’s rabbi, Rabbi Hershi Vogel and Mark Birbeck from Our Fight.
Among those attending the Shabbat dinner were Deirdre Costigan, Ealing Southall MP, and Ealing councillors Tariq Mahmood, Connie Hersch, Munir Ahmed and Ian Kingston, alongside members of the wider community.
Rabbi Vogel said: “We have more things in common than what differentiates us,” adding that communities should come together more often.
