With London Climate Action Week on until 3 July, Ealing Council has teamed up with University of West London’s Fresh Minds for Business to launch Greener Horizons which aims to help small businesses understand, measure and reduce their carbon footprint.
The support comes as Ealing Council has previously committed itself to becoming a carbon neutral borough and council by 2030 and says it wants to get businesses on board to be part of this.
The Greener Horizons project is offering support for up to 200 small businesses in Ealing which have a turnover of £100,000 or less and employ up to 10 people. Businesses will be invited to track and record their carbon emissions using a free carbon emissions calculator tool and with help from Fresh Minds for Business discover ways to make positive changes to the environment.
According to Ealing Council, there will also be advice on how to get funding to help with costs that may be incurred when implementing recommendations.
