Last Thursday (6 March 2025) to mark International Women’s Day, businesswomen from across Ealing attended a special networking event organised by Metro Bank in Ealing Broadway.
The evening event, which celebrated women in business and provided an opportunity for women to connect and network, also saw current The Apprentice contestant Chisola Chitambala make an special appearance.
Those attending were greeted upon arrival by Metro Bank staff and then got to know each other over light refreshments.
They then gathered together to hear from each other. Guest speaker was Vivian Papasotiriou, a restaurateur from Yakaya in Dickens Yard, who discussed the development of her business and the woman who inspired the Yakaya recipes, her Greek grandmother.
The floor was then opened to other women who operate businesses to tell everyone more about themselves and the work they do.
Host of the event, Metro Bank Ealing’s local business manager, Meshgan Osmani, talked about the women who had motivated her to develop her career.
Attendees were also met by a surprise special guest, contestant on the currently airing series of The Apprentice, Chisola Chitambala, who spoke about her business whilst uplifting the stories of others.
Councillor for Ealing Broadway ward, Seema Kumar, discussed her desires to promote female-run businesses in her ward.
After the speeches, more networking was to be done. From charity operators, to small-business owners, the careers of women attending were diverse which allowed everyone to be able to learn from each other.
The event was a great success and showed just how many exceptional women there are across Ealing and its 7 towns.
