During December 2025, ActOne Cinema presents an extensive selection of films, live music, free comedy and excellent festive events. ActOne is open daily, except Christmas Day.
Showing in December:
- Christmas Karma: Festive feel-good musical and Bollywood-flavoured adaptation of A Christmas Carol from the director Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham).
- The Ice Tower: Hans Christian Andersen-inspired fantasy and glacially beautiful drama of obsession and wish fulfilment between an actress and a young runaway.
- Nuremberg: A complex battle of intellects and ethics, exploring the capacity for evil within all of us. A WWII psychiatrist (Rami Malek) evaluates Nazi leaders before the Nuremberg trials, and forms a disturbing bond with Hermann Göring (Russell Crowe).
- Wicked: For Good: A spellbinding finale of an enchanting Broadway adaptation, hitting all the right notes. Last year’s global cinematic cultural sensation now reaches its epic, electrifying, emotional conclusion.
- Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery: The lack of an obvious suspect prompts police chief, Geraldine Scott, to join forces with renowned detective Benoit Blanc to unravel a mystery that defies all logic and might be his most dangerous quest yet.
- Prime Minister: Brisk and inspiring portrait of the life of former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, capturing her five tumultuous years in power and beyond as she redefined leadership on the world stage.
- Pillion: A remarkable directorial debut by Harry Lighton is an unconventional romance that soars thanks to its nonjudgmental perspective and knockout performances from Harry Melling as a wallflower, Colin, and Alexander Skarsgård as a leather-clad biker and lover, Ray.
- Palestine 36: In 1936, as Palestinian villages revolt against British colonial rule, Yusuf navigates between Jerusalem and his rural home, amidst escalating unrest and a pivotal moment for the British Empire. Written and directed by Annemarie Jacir, this is Palestine’s official entry for the 2025 Academy Awards.
- It Was Just an Accident: Master filmmaker Jafar Panahi’s indelible Palme d’Or winner creates a deeply felt moral thriller, where high-stakes tension combines with unexpected flurries of humour and thoughtful, sometimes devastating questions regarding persecution and revenge.
- Eleanor the Great: Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut is a comically poignant exploration of how the stories we hear become the stories we tell. June Squibb brings to vivid life the witty and proudly troublesome 94-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein, who, after a devastating loss, tells a tale that takes on a dangerous life of its own.
- Blue Moon: On the evening of March 31, 1943, legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart confronts his shattered self-confidence in Sardi’s bar as his former collaborator Richard Rodgers celebrates the opening night of his groundbreaking hit musical “Oklahoma!”
- Sunset Boulevard: Arguably the greatest movie about Hollywood, Billy Wilder’s masterpiece is a tremendously entertaining combination of noir, black comedy, and character study.
- L’Atalante: One of the pioneering gems of cinema. Newly married couple Juliette and ship captain Jean struggle through their marriage as they travel aboard the Atalante with the captain’s first mate and a cabin boy.
Coming soon, days and times TBC
- Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair: Quentin Tarantino’s complete cut combining Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. The Bride, a former assassin who awakens from a four-year coma after being shot by her mentor and lover, Bill, embarks on a vengeful quest. Watch it as intended with never-before-seen footage, and on our big screen.
- The Housemaid: A wildly entertaining thriller starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, based on the best-selling book, plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems.
- Marty Supreme: In the 1950s, young Marty Mauser (Timothée Chalamet) pursues his dream of becoming a world champion in table tennis. With a dream no one respects, he goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.
