The Questors Theatre in Ealing has been shortlisted for a national award recognising the work of volunteer-run theatres across the UK.
The Mattock Lane theatre is one of four finalists in the Great Amateur Theatre category of the Theatres Trust’s Great British Theatres Awards.
Questors was shortlisted following work to improve accessibility and the theatre building, including becoming the first amateur theatre in the country to introduce captioning for every in-house production.
It has also replaced the Playhouse roof, with further roofing work under way, and made audience seating more flexible and accessible.
Michael Eppy, executive director of The Questors Theatre, said: “As we approach our centenary in 2029, we are continuing to invest in the future of our theatre to ensure we remain an inclusive and adventurous home for amateur theatre for the next 100 years.”
The other finalists are Seaford Little Theatre in East Sussex, Sherborne Studio Theatre in Dorset and The Swan in Yeovil.
The winner will be announced at Central Hall Westminster on 2 November 2026.
