Organisers of the Ealing Book Festival have issued a call for local writers to take part in the Local Authors Showcase at the 2026 event.
The third Ealing Book Festival will take place from April 29 2026 to May 3 2026, and is inviting published authors with a strong connection to the borough to apply for the showcase.
Up to 20 writers will be selected to take part in the evening event, where each author will have a strict two-minute slot to pitch their book to an audience of book lovers. Books will also be available for sale following the presentations.
The Local Authors Showcase has become a popular part of the the festival programme, offering writers the opportunity to promote their work in front of an audience.
Attendance at the festival has grown each year since it launched. More than 1,900 people attended the 2025 festival, up from around 1,300 in 2024, according to organisers.
Authors with recently published work who wish to take part are being asked to request an application form by emailing localauthors@ealingbookfestival.com
. Applications close on 27 March 2026.
As well as the local authors showcase, the Festival programme includes celebrity readings’ writing and poetry workshops; walking tours; poetry recitals and a young poets competition.
