Ealing Council announces 2026 Christmas card competition

Time is fast approaching for pupils across the borough to enter Ealing Council’s annual Christmas card competition, now in its sixth year, with submissions open until 4 November 2026.

The winning card, based on the theme ‘Places We Love in Ealing at Christmas’, will be used across the council by its cabinet members, chief executive and senior council officers to send festive greetings.

The Council says “What does your favourite place in the borough look like at Christmas? We would love to see it through your artwork.”

The competition is open to anyone who attends a school in the borough and is 18 or younger. There are three categories, six and under, 7-11 and 12-18 years and one overall winner.

In 2025, the overall winner was 10-year-old Helen Soo.

Ealing Council leader Councillor Peter Mason said: “It’s a joy to send out Christmas cards with a real local connection, and I know that they bring a smile to everyone who receives them.”

The competition will be judged by Councillor Mason; Councillor Louise Brett, deputy leader and cabinet member for safe and genuinely affordable homes, and Councillor Blerina Hashani, the council’s cabinet member for a fairer start.

Closing date for the competition is 5pm on 4 November 2025.

To enter, young artists will need to send a photo or a scanned image and say their age and category they are entering along with name and school. All entrants also need to include contact details of their parent, carer or teacher.

The artwork needs to be A4 in size and in landscape format and the image emailed to: vaghelah@ealing.gov.uk
