OPDC awards £110,000 to grassroots community projects

Community projects supporting vulnerable residents in and around Ealing are among 19 initiatives to receive a share of £110,000 from the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC).

The funding, awarded through OPDC’s Small Grants Programme, will help charities and community organisations deliver projects across Ealing, Brent and Hammersmith & Fulham during 2026/27.

Successful projects include home makeovers for families living in unsafe housing, evening meals for people facing homelessness, creative media and skating opportunities for young people, intergenerational health and dance sessions, and activities helping residents enjoy and protect Wormwood Scrubs.

Among the organisations receiving funding are The Upper Room, which will continue its UR4Meals service for people experiencing homelessness, Healing Homes West, which improves living conditions for families in poor-quality housing, and RollaDome All Skate, whose Creative Future Labs project will give young people opportunities to develop creative and digital skills.

OPDC said that since the programme began in 2019, it has awarded funding to more than 70 community-led projects.
