A 34-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of five people after a car being driven collided with multiple pedestrians outside Marks & Spencer in Ealing Broadway on Saturday (27 June 2026) afternoon.
Timir Ahmed Mohamed, a Somalia-born British man from Grange Park, Ealing, has been charged with five counts of attempted murder, dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and criminal damage.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 29 June 2026).
Police were called to The Broadway, W5, at 2.29pm on Saturday following reports that a car being driven had collided with multiple pedestrians outside Marks & Spencer.
Five people were injured in the road traffic collision. Two were treated at the scene, while three were taken to hospital, where police said their injuries were found to be non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.
The Metropolitan Police said the car failed to stop at the scene before it was brought to a halt a short time later in nearby Grange Park.
Due to the nature of the incident, local officers initially consulted Counter Terrorism Policing London while carrying out their enquiries. Police have said the incident is not being treated as terrorism.
Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Liberal Democrat Ealing Broadway Councillor Adam Keenan, said: “My thoughts are with those injured in this horrific act of violence. I applaud the resilience of NHS workers, and the swift actions of police in identifying and arresting the driver. I have confidence that justice will be served.”
Councillor Julian Gallant, Conservative councillor for Ealing Broadway, added: “I was very upset to hear about this incident on Saturday, which has caused serious injuries to people innocently going about their business on a warm Saturday afternoon. I wish them a speedy recovery. My thanks also to the emergency services who attended the scene so promptly. We need to look very carefully at improving safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers in Ealing Broadway.”
Labour MP for Ealing Central and Acton Dr Rupa Huq wished those injured a speedy recovery and praised the emergency services and members of the public who responded to the incident.
Posting on X, Dr Huq said: “Five pedestrians sustained injuries, with two being treated at the scene and three who have been taken to hospital. I am wishing them all a speedy recovery.
“I thank the teams at the London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police for their response, and the members of the public who put themselves in harm’s way to try to apprehend the driver before his arrest.”
