Police seized two illegal e-bikes and an illegal e-scooter during an enforcement operation in Ealing Broadway last week (18 June 2026).
Police told EALING.NEWS that one person was dealt with for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, while two others were dealt with for having no insurance.
In a post on the Met Engage platform, police said the operation was carried out to raise awareness among riders of the legal requirements for using electric bikes and scooters on public roads.
The latest action forms part of ongoing efforts by the Metropolitan Police to tackle illegal e-bikes and e-scooters. EALING.NEWS previously reported on a wider crackdown in Ealing Broadway last autumn, with officers continuing to target vehicles that do not comply with road traffic laws.
The crackdown follows mounting public concern over high-powered modified e-bikes which are increasingly used in fast food delivery.
Police say the vehicles are often linked to crime and anti-social behaviour and are a current ward priority.
