Community grocery shop opens in Gurnell Grove

A community grocery shop has opened at The Grove Community Church in Gurnell Grove to help Ealing residents with the cost of living, welcoming its first customers on Tuesday (23 June 2026).

The West Ealing Community Grocery aims to bridge the gap between supermarkets and food banks, allowing people to choose their own groceries at reduced prices rather than relying on emergency food parcels.

Shoppers can choose from a range of products including fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen food, bakery items, tinned goods, toiletries and household essentials.

West Ealing is the latest location to join the Community Grocery network, which operates more than 35 stores across the UK. The project is being run locally by The Grove Community Church in partnership with The Message Trust.

Beth Koch, manager of the West Ealing Community Grocery, said: “The Community Grocery will meet a pressing need by providing access to affordable food while also creating opportunities for people to build meaningful connections and receive support when they need it most.”

The store is open from 1pm to 6pm, Tuesday to Friday, at The Grove Community Church, Gurnell Grove, West Ealing.
