Two arrested in Hanwell after KFC wiring theft

Two men have been arrested in Hanwell after police stopped a van suspected of being involved in a burglary at a fast food outlet in Ealing Broadway.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police said the vehicle was linked to the theft of wiring from a KFC branch in the area. The van was located on 10 April 2026, when officers detained both the driver and a passenger.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a substantial quantity of cables and wiring believed to have been stolen. The two men were arrested on Grosvenor Road, W7, where further searches led to the recovery of £1,625 in cash and multiple receipts for scrap metal.

Police said the arrests followed information provided by members of the public, who had called 999.

PCSO Joshua Nesbitt of Ealing NPT said: “Thanks to information provided by the public, officers were able to quickly identify and arrest two suspected burglars in our community. This proactive response will have a positive impact on the area and help keep our neighbourhoods safe.”
