An independent coffee shop in Ealing has launched a crowdfunding campaign to rebuild its business after being forced to leave its premises with little notice.
Element Coffee, which previously operated from Northfield Avenue, is seeking to raise £29,000 to create a new permanent home after losing its Orion Park unit shortly before Christmas.
The business, founded in 2019, said it had been required to vacate the site in under 72 hours following redevelopment decisions, bringing an abrupt end to six years of trading in the borough.
In its appeal, the team said the café had grown into a “community that began to feel like family”, hosting events, celebrations and everyday gatherings for local residents.
More than 150 supporters have backed the campaign so far, raising over £11,000 with several weeks remaining.
Organisers say the funds will be used to fit out a new unit from scratch, including installing a larger coffee bar, kitchen facilities and expanded seating, alongside space for workshops, book clubs and other community events.
