Firefighters respond to Sherborne Gardens house blaze

Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called to a house fire in Ealing on Monday (9 March 2026) evening.

The London Fire Brigade said crews were sent to Sherborne Gardens, near Ealing Broadway, at about 5.15pm after reports of a blaze at a semi-detached house with two floors and a loft conversion.

Parts of the roof, loft space and the first floor of the property were damaged by the fire. One man left the house before firefighters arrived and there were no reports of any injuries.

Firefighters from Acton, Southall, Park Royal and other nearby stations attended the scene. The fire was brought under control by 6.46pm.

The brigade said the fire is believed to have been accidental and may have started after sunlight refracted off a surface and onto curtains inside the property.
