Ealing Broadway ward Councillor Seema Kumar has visited a charity shop in Ealing Broadway to learn more about how it supports eye research, community projects and sustainable fashion.
Councillor Kumar spent time on Wednesday (21 January 2026) at the Fight for Sight charity shop on The Broadway, meeting staff and volunteers and helping to sort donated items. The charity said the visit highlighted the role its retail outlets play in funding both scientific research into sight loss and local support initiatives.
Councillor Kumar said: “Fight for Sight’s shop is a treasured part of Ealing’s local shopping scene. Not only can you update your wardrobe with unique finds, but your purchases will support life-changing research in a lab, and vital projects which enable and empower people of all ages who are living with sight loss.”
The charity said its retail work also supports sustainable fashion by recycling second-hand clothing and working with retailers to prevent new clothing going to landfill.
Goda Rekute, Fight for Sight’s commercial manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome Councillor Kumar to Fight for Sight’s boutique shop in Ealing to meet our wonderful volunteers and hear about our work. We are fortunate to have a very supportive local community, and we are so grateful for their generosity.”
The shop, at 12 The Broadway, is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
