Ealing Council is to receive just over £857,000 from the government to help tackle homelessness and rough sleeping, as part of an £84 million national funding boost announced to mark World Homelessness Day on 10 October 2025.
The funding aims to help local authorities strengthen prevention work, improve temporary accommodation, and expand support for people at risk of losing their homes. Ealing’s share includes £480,957 from the Rough Sleeping Prevention and Recovery Grant top-up, £324,121 for Supporting Children Experiencing Homelessness, and £52,513 through the Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant.
Across Ealing, the money will be used to improve services for families living in temporary accommodation and expand treatment and recovery programmes for people sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness.
Housing Secretary, Steve Reed said: “Homelessness is a moral stain on our society. Growing numbers of people have been abandoned to sleep rough on the streets and children left in squalid, overcrowded conditions. This government will not stand idly by and allow that to continue. We will make different choices. That’s why we are investing £1 billion to give homeless people the security of a roof over their heads and get back on track to end homelessness for good.”
