St Augustine’s Priory students celebrate GCSE Results

Students at St Augustine’s Priory in Ealing are celebrating another year of strong GCSE results, with more than 40% of grades awarded at 8 or 9.

The independent girls Catholic school reported that 42% of results were grades 8 or 9, while 66% of all entries achieved grade 7 or above. One in five was a grade 9, the highest mark available.

Headteacher, Christine Macallister, said: “I am thrilled for our Year 11 students and delighted to see our school achieve such excellent results year after year. The students’ accomplishments demonstrate their enjoyment of learning and dedication to their studies. Congratulations to them all.”

Several pupils secured standout results. Nicole achieved nine grade 9s and one grade 8, Giorgia eight grade 9s and two grade 8s, and Claudia seven grade 9s and three grade 8s.

Yara, who gained seven grade 9s and two grade 8s, highlighted the school’s role in her success: “School really helped keep me on track and gave me tips along the way. I was really happy with my high physics grade in particular. I’m excited to stay on for my A levels at St Augustine’s as the teachers are amazing, it feels like a family here and I know the A level results are fantastic too; the support we get really pays off.”

A number of subjects achieved only top grades, including Economics and Further Maths, where all candidates secured grade 9, alongside Computing, French, Latin and Russian.

Giorgia, who joined in Year 7, added: “The teachers really helped me achieve these grades and even outside of classes giving me motivation and encouragement.”
