The Hanwell Carnival might be taking a breather this year, but the party’s far from over. The team behind the much-loved event – first held in 1898 – is launching a series of fundraising events to support its 2026 plans, starting with a Family Fun Day on Saturday 21 June 2025 at The Viaduct pub in Hanwell.
Running in two sessions (12–3pm and 4–7pm), the celebration promises a fun day for all the family with live performances from local favourites like The Ukes and Rock Choir as well as DJs spinning tunes between sets. For the little ones, Froggle Parties is bringing their A-game with magic shows, face painting and princess meet-and-greets.
Elsewhere, there’ll be an artisan market packed with handmade and ethical goodies, plus a BBQ, ice cream, outdoor bar, and old-school fairground games to keep all ages entertained. A raffle in each session offers the chance to win fab prizes from local businesses.
Carnival organisers said all performers and entertainers are giving their services free of charge.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children (12 and under) and can be booked online.
EALING.NEWS caught up with Des McManus, treasurer of Hanwell Carnival CIC to find out more.
How many events do you have planned this year and how much are you looking to raise?
We’re hoping to do 4 events – Family Day on 21 June 2025, quiz night, silent disco (both likely to be at Hobbayne Centre) and Christmas grotto (Hanwell Community Centre). In addition we have a fundraising specialist in our team who will co-ordinate funding applications. In total we are aiming to raise £15,000.
Tell us a bit more about your plans for the event planned on 21 June 2025 and what will be happening?
The day will be in two sessions as stated. The function room will be devoted to live bands and DJs – the final lineups are still TBC but confirmed are the Hanwell Ukelele Group and Rock Choir. We will give countdown and bios of performers on social media and website nearer the time.
Garden will have children’s entertainment led by Froggle Parties, a very well known company in this field and the main performer is an ex Hanwell resident. We will also have a princess meet and greet and face painting.
Stable bar area will feature a number of artisan stalls with handmade items, jewellery, painting, gifts etc as per the Craft tent at Hanwell Carnival.
Car park will have licenced bar, BBQ food, ice cream as well as old-fashioned fairground games – hook a duck, coconut shy.
We also have a raffle in each session with all prizes donated by local businesses such as hairdressers, golf club, pubs, cafes and restaurants, garages etc etc
How can residents get involved with it and what are you looking for from the community?
The family day is being held on the date that Carnival would have taken place – the third Saturday in June. So we want the people of Hanwell to have their own mini-Carnival and help us protect Carnival 2026. They can book tickets via the QR code on the poster or direct through the website as per the link given earlier. Tickets are limited to 300 per session so people must book to ensure they can be there on the day.
We have held entrance prices to a minimum and all musicians and entertainers are giving their services for free, which is a great gesture from all concerned.
Anyone wishing to volunteer to assist with the event can contact us via info@hanwellcarnival.co.uk
