Friday Night Lights series explores women’s mental health

A new cultural series spotlighting mental health through creativity makes its debut in North Acton on 16 May 2025.

Friday Night Lights, which will be held monthly at venues across West London, debuts at The Foundry Collective with its first evening themed ‘Mental Health Through the Female Lens’.

The series is a collaboration between local mental health charity HFEH Mind and Munchie Lunchie Productions, aiming to create space for open conversations through film, art, theatre, and music.

Karim Hadaya, founder of Munchie Lunchie, said: “Art has the power to challenge stigma and spark real change. We’re committed to using creativity and community to shine a light on mental health, especially as experienced by women.”

The headline feature is Health is a Privilege, a short film by Slovak-born London artist Simona Gibejova. Inspired by her own experience with invisible disabilities, chronic pain and trauma, the performance offers a personal look into the unseen battles many women face.

She said: “Through this play, we hope to create a space where vulnerability is met with understanding.”

The evening includes live monologues from Humaira Chuhan (Humus) and S-Bars, a theatrical performance of Butterflies by Ruth O’Callaghan and Crew, and artwork from Susie Heyes, Helen Sabin, Satvir Sihota, and others. Guest speakers include local business owner Gi Dhanoa and BBC costume designer Linda Haysman.

Tickets are £10 in advance, £12 on the door. Proceeds support HFEH Mind’s Thirty for 30K Campaign which is promoting mental health conversations across West London.
