Man killed in Hanwell house fire

A man has died following a house fire in Hanwell during the early hours of Sunday morning (4 May 2025).

Emergency services were called to Humes Avenue at 5.32am. Part of the ground floor of the terraced house was damaged by fire.

One man was able to leave the property before the arrival of the London Fire Brigade and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. A second man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire was brought under control by 5.53am. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Ealing and Southall stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. A joint investigation has been launched by the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
