Dipna Anand, head chef and owner of Brilliant, has announced that her highly anticipated gastropub, Brilliant Gastro, will officially open in Southall on 25 April.
Located in Parkside Yards – part of The Green Quarter development by Berkeley Group – the new venture marks a fresh chapter for the Anand family. It follows the recent closure of their iconic Brilliant Restaurant earlier this month (7 April 2025), which served the community for 50 years.
The location will also be the new home for Ms Anand’s cookery school, giving food fans a chance to learn directly from the renowned chef.
The popularity of Brilliant Restaurant saw a loyal following from not just locals but also people across the world and even His Majesty King Charles III naming it one of his favourite places for curry.
Ms Anand said: “As Southall transforms, so do we. This gastropub is my personal take on the flavours I love—a fusion of my Punjabi roots and modern influences. We’re bringing something completely fresh to Southall’s dining scene.”
The menu promises a bold mash-up of traditional and contemporary dishes including chicken biryani arancini, charred spiced cauliflower steak, crazy corn chilli ribs and banging chicken tikka burger. For those who like something sweet, the gastropub is offering a selection of desserts including gulab jamun bomb and a cardamom-infused sticky toffee pudding.
Set to seat 80 inside with additional space outdoors, the gastropub is a short walk from Southall station.
Marcus Blake, managing director at St George, Berkeley Group, said: “Brilliant Gastro is a fantastic addition to Parkside Yards, which has quickly established itself as meeting point for friends, families and neighbours to socialise.”
