Ealing Fields and Little Ealing crowned national NFL Flag champions

Two Ealing schools have been crowned national champions in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with one team now set to represent Great Britain in the United States.

Ealing Fields Church of England High School won three titles and Little Ealing Primary School claimed a fourth at the NFL Flag Great Britain National Championships in Manchester on Wednesday (17 June 2026).

Flag football, a non-contact version of American football, is due to make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles Games in 2028 and has seen rapidly growing participation in schools across Britain.

Ealing Fields lifted the Under-13 Mixed, Under-15 Girls and Under-15 Open national titles, while Little Ealing won the Primary Mixed championship.

The biggest prize of all went to Ealing Fields’ Under-15 Open side, who will travel to Indianapolis next month to represent Great Britain at the NFL Flag Championships.

Brian Flinn, NFL senior vice president, global Flag Football, said: “Congratulations to Ealing Fields and Little Ealing on capturing the 2026 NFL Flag Great Britain National Championships, and to the hundreds of teams and communities helping drive the sports growth.

“As flag football continues its rapid global expansion, the momentum here is creating more opportunities for young people to dream big, stay active, and build the teamwork and leadership skills that will serve them far beyond competition.”

The national finals brought together 48 teams from across the country after a season that began with more than 650 schools entering the competition.

Little Ealing beat Woodlands Primary School 26-6 in the Primary Mixed final.

Ealing Fields defeated Robert Clark School 26-0 in the Under-13 Mixed final before recording 7-0 victories over Mount Carmel Roman Catholic High School and Northampton School for Boys in the Under-15 Girls and Under-15 Open finals.
