A two year campaign by West London Citizens which represents over 20 members from a wide range of diverse organisations has seen all nine NHS Trusts in North West London including those supporting Ealing residents sign up to become accredited Living Wage Employers.
The Trusts, which include West London NHS Trust and London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust which runs Ealing Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital, have committed to the Living Wage and West London Citizens says around 1,670 workers are set to be uplifted to it.
The current Living Wage in London is £13.85 an hour.
Rob Hurd, chief executive of NHS North West London and North West London Integrated Care System, said: “The NHS is one of the largest employers in our communities, We are proud that all of our NHS Trusts are paying staff the Real Living Wage.”
Mr Hurd added: “Our staff are looking after the health and wellbeing of their local populations. This, in turn, supports our residents at all points in their life, including fitness to work. Therefore, it makes both moral and economic sense that NHS staff are fairly rewarded in line with the principles of Living Wage employment.”
