Hanwell Hootie festival returns next month

Hanwell will come alive with music next month as more than 100 acts perform across 12 venues for the return of Hanwell Hootie on 9 May 2026.

The event, described by organisers as London’s largest free one-day musical festival, will once again bring live music to pubs, community spaces and outdoor locations across Hanwell.

First launched in 2013, the volunteer-run Hootie has grown from a small pub-based event into one of London’s best-known community festivals, drawing large crowds each spring.

It also celebrates Hanwell’s place in music history as the home of the first Marshall amplifier, built in the area in 1962 by Jim Marshall.

Festival locations are concentrated within Hanwell’s “square mile”, making it possible for visitors to walk between stages, food stalls and venues throughout the day.

This year’s locations include The Duke of York, The Fox, The Viaduct Pub, Dodo Micropub, Village Inn, The Forester, The Green W7, Kings Arms, Prince of Wales, Hobbayne Centre, Viaduct Meadow and the busking stage at Hanwell Clock Tower.

Acts announced for the line-up include Sterling Press, Mokat, The Gospel, Daytime TV and Vero alongside dozens of other performers.

Organisers said interest from musicians remained high, with more than 1,200 artists applying to perform this year.

Viaduct Meadow will also host an international street food area, with traders including Cheeky Burger, Dough Lads, Papi Chulo, Surrey Ices and The Crepe Cabin.

Ahead of this year’s festival, organisers have announced the launch of the Terry Marshall Academy, a new platform intended to support young and emerging artists.
