Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a large fire at a commercial laundry building on Dukes Road in Park Royal in the early hours of Tuesday (7 October 2025) morning.
The blaze broke out shortly after 3am and quickly engulfed the single-storey structure, sending thick plumes of smoke across the area. London Fire Brigade (LFB) said residents nearby were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the volume of smoke.
Crews from Acton, Park Royal, Ealing, Wembley, Willesden, Hammersmith and Chiswick fire stations were dispatched after the first of eight emergency calls was received at 3.16am. Firefighters set up a water relay system, linking appliances from the nearest hydrant to the fire site to maintain a steady water supply. A 32-metre turntable ladder from Wembley Fire Station was deployed as a water tower to tackle the flames from above.
The fire was brought under control by 5.37am, though firefighters remained at the scene throughout the morning to dampen down and extinguish remaining hotspots. No injuries were reported.
The fire caused disruption to traffic in the area, with Dukes Road closed and congestion expected on the nearby westbound carriageway of the A40 Western Avenue during the morning rush hour. Access to other businesses within the industrial estate has also been affected.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
