Feltham man admits eight thefts worth £1,600 from Acton petrol station

A 46-year-old man has admitted stealing goods worth around £1,600 from a BP petrol station on Western Avenue in Acton.

Clive Martin, of Rochester Avenue, Feltham, pleaded guilty to eight counts of theft at Ealing Magistrates’ Court on last Friday (16 October 2026).

The offences took place between September and October 2026.

Martin was arrested after being caught stealing from the petrol station. Police then examined CCTV footage and other evidence, linking him to seven further thefts at the same store.

The investigation was carried out by Metropolitan Police neighbourhood officers working with staff at the petrol station.

Posting on Met Engage, PC Wheeler, from the North Acton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Shoplifting is not a victimless crime. Repeat offending has a significant impact on businesses, staff and the wider community.

“This outcome demonstrates our commitment to identifying prolific offenders and ensuring they are brought before the courts. We will continue to work closely with retailers to tackle those responsible and make North Acton a safer place to live and work.”

Martin is due to be sentenced on 27 November 2026.
