The London Borough of Ealing is set to receive £4.624m in transport funding to support projects aimed at making roads safer, more accessible and greener across the borough.
The money forms part of a £94.8m investment package announced by Transport for London (TfL) for London boroughs and the City of London for the 2026–27 financial year. The programme is designed to support schemes that improve road safety, encourage walking and cycling and create more accessible streets.
Councils across the capital submitted proposals through their Local Implementation Plans, which set out how boroughs plan to deliver transport improvements locally in partnership with TfL. According to the transport authority, projects within the programme are at different stages of development, with some still in early design and others ready to move into construction.
Across London, the funding is expected to support initiatives including new cycle routes, School Streets, pedestrian crossings and other measures aimed at reducing road danger.
Will Norman said: “I am thrilled that another round of funding has been awarded to boroughs as part of our three-year programme to make London’s streets greener and safer. We have already seen the transformative impact of new cycleways, expanded School Streets, and lower speed limits helping to reduce road danger across the city.”
David Rowe said: “This funding strengthens our partnership with boroughs as we work to create a transport network that supports London’s growth and improves quality of life.”
