A professor at Ealing’s University of West London has published a new book exploring parental alienation and how families and professionals can better understand one of the most complex issues following separation and divorce.
Professor Benjamin Hine, professor of applied psychology, has written Understanding Parental Alienation: Theoretical Insights and Practical Strategies, published by Routledge.
The book examines parental alienation and its impact on children and families, while stressing it should not be confused with situations where a child rejects a parent because of abuse, neglect or other legitimate safeguarding concerns.
Professor Hine said: “Parental alienation is one of the most misunderstood and emotionally damaging experiences a child or parent can face.”
