The leader of the opposition of Ealing Council, Liberal Democrat Councillor Gary Malcolm is now half way through his challenge to complete 10,000 steps a day in October to raise money for Shelter, a charity which campaigns and provides help and advice for people needing housing or facing homelessness.
Councillor Malcolm, who represents Southfield ward has already hit more than 270,000 steps by the half way point and told EALING.NEWS about his strategy to get in as many steps as possible each day.
He said: “To help boost my steps I organised on the same day in different locations my flu jab and my Covid booster jabs which meant I had done a lot of steps quickly last week.”
Another way to increase the steps was taking part in cleaning up Walpole. “On Saturday I did a clear up in Walpole to get rid of lots of bags of waste and community activities like that help boost steppage,” he revealed.
