Ealing Council has announced details about changes to bin collection times over Christmas and New Year, as well as sharing details of January Christmas tree collections.

Rubbish and recycling

Rubbish and recycling collection days will change over the holiday period. Collections return to normal on 19 January 2026.

The council’s re-use and recycling centre will remain open during its regular times of 8am-4pm, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Residents can report issues via report it or use the Love Clean Streets app.

Christmas tree collection

From Monday 5 January 2026 to Friday 23 January 2026, Ealing residents who use black and blue wheeled bins can leave their real Christmas tree at the front edge of their property for collection.

Collections will take place on the same day as your revised black bin (rubbish) collection, every other week.

To be collected, trees must be no more than 20cm in trunk diameter and no taller than six feet. Larger trees can be cut in half. Please make sure all decorations are removed.

Residents who live in flats or use a communal bin service will need to take their real tree to one of the council’s parks or open spaces for disposal.
