Park Royal-based Dina Foods has invested £1m in manufacturing upgrades over the past three years, as the family-run bakery responds to growing demand for its Mediterranean flatbreads, confectionery and savoury products.
The most recent improvement, a complete overhaul of its pitta production line completed in August 2025, has seen the company modernise operations. The pitta line is one of five bread lines made at the Park Royal bakery, which produces a wide range of traditional Middle Eastern breads for both UK and international markets.
Managing director Suheil Haddad said the business was focused on improving efficiency and consistency while reducing its carbon footprint. He said: “We want to help our customers stand out by delivering high quality, innovative and healthy products at competitive prices. We are always looking at new ideas and potential enhancements in efficiency across our whole business.”
The pitta upgrade follows a 2024 refurbishment of the line producing Dina Foods’ Khobez flatbreads, sold under the Paninette brand. According to the company, the investment in a fully automated system has almost doubled capacity, lifting output from 5,000 to 9,000 pieces an hour. Mr Haddad said the work had reduced labour costs and downtime, improved the quality of the bread and increased energy efficiency.
Other recent changes include the installation of an onsite nitrogen generator to replace CO2 canisters used in packaging. The company says this has halved gas flushing costs and improved shelf life. Dina Foods has also fitted sensors to monitor flour silo levels, allowing more accurate scheduling of deliveries and reducing the risk of supply interruptions.
