Crowdfunder launched for Ealing family

More than £16,000 has been raised through a crowdfunder appeal for an Ealing Broadway family after the death of local mother Sarah Bentley, who died following a months-long battle with cancer.

Ms Bentley died last week (15 January 2026) aged 35, just 18 days before her 36th birthday. She leaves behind her husband Ryan, 33, and their three children, aged 8, 7 and 2. Friends have organised a GoFundMe campaign to help the family as they navigate the weeks and months ahead.

Tributes shared online describe Ms Bentley as a devoted mother and a deeply compassionate person who supported other women, particularly after childbirth. The fundraiser says she encouraged curiosity and independence in her children, and promoted independent play as a way of giving parents time for self-care.

Organisers also spoke of her faith and work as a missionary for GEM Church. They said: “She was also deeply passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus with gentleness, warmth, and authenticity. Her life was marked by compassion, generosity, and a sincere love for others.”

The appeal says the family is facing immediate financial pressures. It states that Ryan has not been able to work as much while grieving, significantly affecting the household income at a time when stability is most needed.

Friends behind the fundraiser say the family will need to move soon and are seeking leads on a suitable rental home. Donations are intended to cover essential bills, living costs and expenses linked to honouring Ms Bentley’s life, with organisers saying funds go directly to the family.
