Ealing Broadway shopping centre is to host another free clothes swap shop this weekend (25 May to 26 May 2024).
The clothes swap shop, for adult and children’s wear in good condition, is a collaboration between Ealing Broadway and recycle partner, Love Not Landfill, following an initial partnership in 2018.
In 2023, 1,476 people took part donating more than 4,500 items which saved around 1.2 tonnes of clothes being prevented from going to landfill.
After donating their clothes, visitors are given tokens to spend on other items within the swap shop.
The event will be taking place during the following hours:
- Saturday 25 May 2024 from 10.00am – 4.00pm: Locals can drop off their pre-loved good quality clothing outside Flying Tiger and receive up to five tokens to spend the next day.
- Sunday 26 May 2024 from 10.00am – 4.00pm: Visitors can view donated items and take home a maximum of five items using the tokens provided the day before.
Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway said: “Community and sustainability are key priorities for us at Ealing Broadway, so it was brilliant to see how popular the clothes swap was last year, as well as the more recent pre-loved uniform shop last month. We’re looking forward to continuing to host them throughout the year and to support the community with providing a range of new pre-loved items ahead of the summer.”
As well as donating on the day, just like during the rest of the year, visitors can donate pre-loved items at Ealing Broadway’s two Love Not Landfill clothes banks, which are located by the entrance to St. Saviour’s Walk and on the First Floor in the centre.
