People in Ealing are being asked to help shape local NHS services after health leaders revealed there can be a 17-year gap in healthy life expectancy between different communities across west and north London.
The call comes as the newly-created West and North London Integrated Care Board (ICB) launches a six-week public engagement campaign, inviting residents to share how they want to be involved in decisions about health and care services.
The ICB, which was formed on 1 April 2026, is responsible for planning NHS services across 13 London boroughs, including Ealing. It oversees around £12 billion of NHS spending each year and serves 4.5 million residents, making it the largest integrated care board in England.
Katie Fisher, interim chief executive officer of the West and North London ICB, said: “Across our boroughs, depending on where you live and your background, there is a 17 year difference in the number of healthy years you can expect to live.
“We need to make changes, and we need to make decisions. Better decisions happen when people are involved.”
