Ealing Farmers Market celebrates 25th anniversary

Ealing Farmers Market will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Saturday (26 September 2026), a quarter of a century after it first opened in West Ealing.

The first market was held on Leeland Road on 29 September 2001, when celebrity chef Brian Turner gave a cooking demonstration at a time when farmers markets were still relatively unusual in London.

Twenty-five years later, many stallholders have been trading at the market for years, selling produce directly from farmers and food producers every Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

The anniversary will be marked with 25 stalls at its current home on The Avenue – one for each year of the market – along with free birthday cake and a competition to win a hamper of market produce.

Councillor Adam Keenan, Liberal Democrat councillor for Ealing Broadway, said: “I am delighted that Ealing Farmers Market are celebrating 25 successful years of trading. A big thank you to the stallholders and residents who have made this market an enduring Ealing institution. Our borough is lucky to have you. Here’s to the next 25 years!”

Mark Handley, director of London Farmers Markets, thanked customers for their “loyal support” and the farmers and food producers who had “stuck with the market through good times and bad”.
