Stanhope Primary School in Greenford has won the Leadership Team of the Year category at the 2025 National Schools Awards. The trophy was presented at a ceremony at the House of Lords on Wednesday (3 December 2025 2025), where schools from across the UK were recognised for achievements in education.
Staff at Stanhope Primary said the honour reflected the work of its senior leaders as well as the wider school community.
Speaking to EALING.NEWS, the headteacher, Hannah Widdison, said: “We are all over the moon to have won Leadership Team of the Year 2025. To be recognised on a national stage is truly humbling.”
She described an “exceptional leadership team” with “kind hearts, strong moral compasses and an unwavering desire to raise good humans”.
Ms Widdison said the team’s priorities went beyond academic performance, with a focus on “equity and inclusion” and “ensuring the best for every child”. She added that the honour belonged to “our whole wonderful community”.
Councillor Aysha Raza, a governor at the school, told EALING.NEWS: “It has been a privilege to have been on Stanhope Primary’s journey from a school in special measures to a multi award winning one. We have fantastic staff and leaders dedicated to the development and outcomes of all our students. It’s wonderful to be recognised for all the innovation and hard work over many years. I think we need to look at getting a larger awards cabinet.”
John Williams, chair of governors, added: “This is much-deserved recognition for a leadership team that has transformed the school with its shared values and uncompromising passion for delivering the best for every single pupil.”
