Metropolitan Police are appealing for information following reports in Acton of criminal damage believed to have been caused by ball bearings fired from catapults.
Officers said they are investigsasting reports of incidents across the area and are asking residents who may have witnessed catapukts being used, or have relevant CCTV or doorbell footage, to come forward.
While catapults are legal to own, police warned that their misuse can cause serious injury to people and animals, as well as damage to property.
Parents and guardians are also being urged to check whether their children have catapults and ensure they understand the potential consequences of using them irresponsibly.
Acting Ward Sergeant for North Acton, George Zealey said: “We are asking residents to help us identify and prevent this behaviour. Even seemingly minor details could help us identify those responsible and prevent further incidents.”
