An 83-year-old woman from Ealing has been honoured with two major awards for her exceptional community service at housing association giant A2Dominion’s 2025 Making a Difference Awards.
Anne Murray, who lives near Ealing Broadway station and has been an A2Dominion tenant for over 40 years, was named joint winner in the Great Neighbour category and received the Overall Impact Award – the highest accolade of the ceremony. The awards celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to strengthen their communities across London and the South.
Anne is a volunteer at Clayponds Community Centre in South Ealing, where she plays a key role in the weekly surplus food distribution. She helps with deliveries, organises supplies, and provides emotional support to isolated or vulnerable residents.
She has also long been a champion for tenant voices, contributing to property inspections and customer scrutiny panels. Nominated by Julie Brooker, communities partner for social value, Anne was praised for her “humility, reliability, and commitment,” and hailed as a “true inspiration.”
Reflecting on her decades of service, Anne said: “I’ve always believed that if something isn’t right, you speak up… I just wanted people to feel respected and heard.”
The awards were presented by Dawn Wightman, A2Dominion’s director of customer and communities, and chief customer officer Kate Gascoigne. Wightman said Anne’s compassion and dedication had made a “lasting impact” and embodied the very spirit of the awards.
