In February 2026, many great films and events are coming up at ActOne Cinema.
We will contribute to the half-term fun, present an evening of love and literature, host a multimedia stand-up comedy show, and screen National Theatre Live and Royal Ballet live. - Nouvelle Vague: A playful and poignant love letter to cinema reimagines Jean-Luc Godard’s making of a revolutionary New Wave classic “Breathless”.
- Breathless (À bout de souffle): Michel, a petty thief, steals a car, runs over a policeman, and later tries to seduce his girlfriend into running away with him to Italy. Jean-Paul Belmondo’s breakthrough role makes Jean-Luc Godard’s film an influential example of the French New Wave.
- A Room with a View: Lush romance brings nostalgic romanticism, and independent-minded Lucy Honeychurch must decide between George and Cecil.
- R.E.M. x Buster Keaton’s Sherlock Jr: Buster Keaton’s 1924 comedy classic is reimagined with R.E.M.’s alt-rock masterpieces Monster (1994) and New Adventures in Hi-Fi (1996). Following the success of Silents Synced’s previous hit, Radiohead x Nosferatu.
- Wuthering Heights: Already tipped to be the biggest and most delicious cinema scandal of 2026, this is Emerald Fennell’s take on the famous novel, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as Catherine and Heathcliff.
- Little Amélie or the Character of Rain: The world is a perplexing, peaceful mystery to Belgian girl Amélie living in Japan, until a miraculous encounter with chocolate ignites her wild sense of curiosity. Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
- Stitch Head: Based on Guy Bass’s book series, this raucous twist on the Frankenstein story is an animated comedy adventure for monsters, young & old.
- My Father’s Shadow: Two young brothers explore Lagos with their estranged father during the 1993 Nigerian election crisis, witnessing both the city’s magnitude and their father’s daily struggles as political unrest threatens their journey home.
- All That’s Left of You: In the Occupied West Bank of the 1980s, a Palestinian teenager is swept into a protest that changes the course of his family’s life.
- The Secret Agent: Marcelo (Wagner Moura) is on the run from mercenary killers after becoming the target of a dictator amid the ruthless, political tumult of 1977 Brazil. 4 Academy Award nominations.
- If I Had Legs I’d Kick You: Linda (award-winning Rose Byrne) attempts to navigate her child’s mysterious illness, her absent husband, a missing person, and an increasingly hostile relationship with her therapist.
Special Events: Top Five Picks
London Short Film Festival – Sunday 1st February at 2.30 pm
The Colonial Present in Cinema and Sound presents stories of national liberation brought to life through film and shared music listening experience. Curated by Thawra Archive, the film programme will be followed by a reflective listening soundscape exploring the power of music and audio in the service of a political cause. A journey will take you from the African continent and Brazil to Turtle Island, and the everlasting struggle in Palestine with the Oscar-nominated The Present by Farah Nabulsi.
Royal Ballet Live: The Woolf Works– Monday 9 February at 7.15 pm
Broadcast LIVE from The Royal Opera House, for one night only. Created in 2015 for The Royal Ballet, this Olivier Award-winning ballet triptych captures the heart of Virginia Woolf’s uniquely artistic spirit. Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor leads a luminous artistic team to evoke Woolf’s signature consciousness writing style in this immense work that rejects traditional narrative structures. The Royal Ballet & Opera Live cinema season runs until May 2026.
All About Love: A Night of Love, Literature and Live Performance – Friday 13 February at 7.00 pm
An intimate, one-night-only event exploring love in all its depth, complexities, and forms. Hosted in collaboration with Fiksy, a community-powered library built on connection, curiosity, and care, helping readers discover new books through swapping rather than buying, making reading more fun, affordable, and sustainable. The evening brings together live conversations, music, poetry and books to explore romantic, familial and platonic love.
May You Be With The Farce – Sunday 22 February at 3.00 pm
Comedian, cartoonist and actor Mike Capozzola brings his multimedia comedy show that mocks and celebrates all things STAR WARS to Screen 1. Expect quick-witted, sharp observations, hilarious humour, and New York-style nerd-comedy in all its glory.
National Theatre Live: The Audience – Thursday 26 February at 7.00 pm
Returning to cinemas for the first time in over a decade, Helen Mirren plays Queen Elizabeth II in the Olivier and Tony Award-winning hit production, directed by Stephen Daldry. Peter Morgan’s Netflix phenomenon The Crown was based on this hit play, captured live from London’s West End in 2013, and went on to become one of the most-watched NT Live productions.
