Families across Ealing can now reserve free second-hand school uniforms online and collect them locally under an expansion of a council initiative that has already helped more than 265 families.
Ealing Council has partnered with online platform Uniformd, allowing parents to browse available uniforms, reserve items and arrange free collection from ReActon Hub in Acton or Northfields Library.
The scheme, launched in August 2025, collects unwanted school uniforms and redistributes them to local families. According to the council, more than 800 items have been saved from being thrown away.
Available items include branded and unbranded primary and secondary school uniforms, such as shirts, trousers, skirts, jumpers, sportswear, footwear and school bags.
Councillor Dominic Moffitt, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for climate action, said: “We know how quickly children grow out of school uniform and that buying replacements can be another cost for families. By putting our free uniform stock online, residents will be able to see what is available and choose the items they need before making the journey to collect them.”
The council says more collection points will be added across the borough.
Residents can also donate clean, good-quality school uniforms, including shoes and school bags, for other families to use. Details of where to donate and the latest collection locations are available on the ActForEaling website.
