Emergency services meet the community at Southall roadshow

More than 500 people attended an emergency response roadshow in Southall, where over 80 residents learned how to perform CPR.

Emergency services, Ealing Council teams and voluntary organisations took part in the event at Parkside Yards in The Green Quarter earlier this month (12 September 2026).

The Southall roadshow followed the first event held at Acton Fire Station in September 2025.

Visitors were able to receive CPR training from the London Ambulance Service, have their blood pressure checked by Heartlink and speak to London Fire Brigade about fire safety.

Other activities included advice about cybercrime, flooding, severe weather and preparing emergency plans and grab bags. Residents were also shown where to find trusted information during an emergency.

Displays included emergency and specialist vehicles, the Metropolitan Police dog unit and a vintage police motorcycle used during the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Among the organisations taking part were the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, the Environment Agency, British Red Cross, Thames Water, Canal & River Trust and Barclays’ cybercrime team.

Several Ealing Council services also attended, alongside the Ealing and Hounslow Community Voluntary Service and Rapid Relief Team.

Councillor Jasbir Anand, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for tackling crime and antisocial behaviour, told EALING.NEWS: “It was fantastic more than 500 residents attend the Emergency Response Roadshow and engaged with so many organisations dedicated to keeping our communities safe.

“Events like this help bring emergency planning to life, giving people practical skills, trusted advice and a better understanding of how they can prepare for unexpected situations.

“Building community resilience is everyone’s responsibility and this event demonstrated what can be achieved when local services and residents come together.”

Plans are also now being made for the next roadshow which is set to be held at Ealing Fire Station on Uxbridge Road in W13.
