TK Maxx will open its new store at The Oaks Shopping Centre in Acton tomorrow (27 August 2026), almost three years after Wilko closed at the site.
The retailer has confirmed the 10,085 sq ft store will open at 10am, selling clothing, accessories and homeware.
EALING.NEWS first reported in July that TK Maxx was preparing to move into the former Wilko unit, which has been empty since Wilko closed its Acton store in September 2023.
To mark the opening, TK Maxx said a roaming band will entertain people waiting outside, while customers will be able to take part in a “Spin to Win” game offering sweets, prizes and gift cards.
A TK Maxx spokesperson said: “We are thrilled to be opening a brand-new TK Maxx store in Acton at The Oaks shopping centre. We look forward to welcoming the local community through our doors.”
Rupa Huq, MP for Ealing Central and Acton, told EALING.NEWS she welcomes the new retail arrival: “The arrival of TK Maxx to Acton is brilliant news for the local community, who will have a range of quality clothing and homeware on their doorstep which has been so sadly lacking.
“It shows a real vote of confidence in the local retail climate and that Acton is definitely on the up.”
Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Lu Webb, centre manager at The Oaks Shopping Centre, added: “I’m absolutely delighted to have TK Maxx opening at The Oaks Shopping Centre – it’s such a fantastic addition and I can’t wait to shop there!”
The Acton branch will be TK Maxx’s third store in Ealing, joining its existing stores at Ealing Broadway and Westway Cross Retail Park in Greenford.
EALING.NEWS has contacted TK Maxx to ask how many jobs have been created at the new Acton store but has not received a response.
