UWL professor to give public lecture on hospitality and loneliness

A professor at Ealing’s University of West London (UWL) is to give a public lecture later this month on how hospitality can help people feel less isolated.

Professor Ioannis Pantelidis, Deputy Dean of UWL’s London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism, will speak at the university’s St Mary’s Road campus on 22 June 2026.

His lecture will look at why hospitality is about more than hotels, restaurants and customer service. He will also discuss how making people feel welcome can matter in workplaces, healthcare, transport and community life.

Professor Pantelidis said hospitality can help create places where people feel “welcomed, respected and connected”.

The free lecture starts at 6pm, with registration from 5.30pm. Advance booking is required.
