Climate change tops environmental concerns in Boston Manor Park poll

Climate change emerged as the biggest environmental concern among visitors to Boston Manor Park after a public poll carried out during the park’s Nature Festival.

Ealing Friends of the Earth alongside Hounslow Friends of the Earth asked visitors at the festival last month  (23 May 2026) to rank six environmental priorities they would most like to see supported.

The results placed a stable climate as the top priority, followed by nature and wild spaces, food quality and security, energy independence, clean air and safe streets.

Nic Ferriday, of Ealing Friends of the Earth, said recent hot weather may have helped focus people’s minds on climate issues. He said: “The scorching weather may have acted as a reminder, but we are sure that there is already a growing awareness in Ealing and Hounslow of how critical climate change is.”

Maggie Thorburn, of Hounslow Friends of the Earth, said: “Coming so soon after the local elections, we hope our poll and the record May temperatures remind newly elected and re-elected councillors that the environment and climate change remain a matter of high public concern”.
